Art Museum Wayfinding

At Boston University, we were tasked with creating an innovative signage system for a new contemporary art museum in Boston, aiming to enhance visitor experience and navigation within the space. Develop a proposal for a comprehensive, intuitive, and aesthetically pleasing wayfinding system that guides visitors throughout the museum, promoting ease of navigation, engagement, and a sense of exploration.

The designs were inspired by the MOMA (Museum of Modern Art) in New York City, considering its minimal architectural style and contemporary artistic pieces.

A color coding system was provided in order to guide the audience in a more dynamic and comprehensive way among the floor levels, featuring vibrant color tones that contrast well with black, in order to maintain an avant-garde approach.

A clean sans serif font was implemented to preserve a friendly style that complements the rounded, minimal shapes of the pictograms and arrows, making orientation more playful and fun for the audience.
